Meet The Maker

Kye is an entirely self- taught craftsman. Born into a family of creatives and raised working alongside his Dad in their family hand shaped surfboard business, D’Arcy Surfboards – he was destined to pursue a career that involved him being innovative and getting his hands dirty.

His passion for woodwork and furniture design ignited living abroad in New York, turning his loft kitchen into a factory by day. Cheap, tacky tools and dinner served with a side of sawdust, he was in his element learning and creating for friends.

After returning to Australian soil, Kye started working for esteemed vintage furniture collectors, Found Furniture. He worked his way up from restoring furniture to building custom made pieces for their clientele. Working for Found Furniture has kindled his love of Mid-Century Danish Furniture, from which he draws much of his inspiration and built the foundation for DARCY D- timeless, classic pieces that are built to last more than one lifetime.
